EBay fairly regularly has Banjara cholis posted. I've seen a few on Etsy as well. They almost all will need significant modification, as they tend to be TINY, but those are a couple good places to look for the starter garments.

Carolena is working out a pattern for those kinds of Banjara choli, as they are so rare nowadays.Keep your eyes peeled!

I would really like to make a choli – since all the cholis I buy are not suitable for those of us with “not alot going on upstairs” if i lean over in most store bought cholis and i accidentally flash people!  😮I need a choli thats a nice snug tight fit. anyone who can recommend a good pattern for a beginner or a good place to buy one that fits well....i'm only 28inch ribcage.

Ferret, get one from Maxine! http://www.velvetclawvintagedesigns.co.uk/Tribal-Bellydance-Boutique.html – she custom-fits them and they are very reasonably priced.

Here's a resource I found that will custom make one for you using vintage fabrics.  I can't vouch for it though, because I haven't tried it.  http://indiabazaar.net/product.php?productid=18006&cat=255&page=6The choli's you are asking about are extremely hard to find!

Ferret, there is a lot of tutorials for how to make a small bust adjustment in the pattern, for example: http://christinehaynes.blogspot.fr/2013/11/emery-dress-sew-along-how-to-do-small.htmlIt is for woven fabricks, but the method works just fine for jerseys too.For my cholis I use Simplicity 3832 pattern. I chopped off a part of the back to make it more ATS-like. The pattern has a gathered front, but instead of the gathering you can make a fish eye dart to get rid of the excessive fullness.

Here's a diagram for a Mughal Choli pattern, similar to the Rajasthani choli you pictured. I haven't made one, so I can't vouch for the fit. If you're going to try one, I'd definitely make one in muslin first, as I suspect it may need A LOT of messing with.http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/originals/3d/04/53/3d0453ffcc02f170f8ef6c57fb3bace3.jpgCarolena said she still intends to write hers up, but not any time soon, so if you want one now, this is probably your best bet.
