Hi All,I'd like to compile a list of companies that feature vegan/cruelty-free makeup. My favorite company is MAC, but they have been bought by Estee Lauder, whom I understand to support animal testing. The reason I prefer MAC is that it's pigment-rich, and works great for stage. Jesse Stanbridge recommended OCC, and they look pretty good: http://occmakeup.com/If you have any recommendations, I would love to hear! Thanks.

Makeup Geek makeup is supposed to be really good.  I haven't tried it yet, but I've seen reviews and apparently they are supposed to be very well-pigmented.  She says in her product descriptions that her products are cruelty-free, no animal testing, as well as being talc and paraben-free.I also really like that she sells individual eye shadows in little circular pans that fit perfectly inside palettes, seems like it would be really good for bringing around only the specific colors you want 🙂

Definitely Kryolan, as well as Ben Nye and Makeup For Ever.ETA: Is Illamasqua available in the US? They're made by Kryolan and are what Mac used to be. Many vegan products, but not all.

From the cheaper end of the spectrum, most (but not all) Barry M makeup is vegan and they have a fantastic range of intense colours and glittery things.

OCC makes some great stuff. I use their lip tars and pencils but haven't tried anything else yet. Urban Decay has always claimed to be cruelty-free but are now owned by L'Oreal, so it's a little confusing. PETA still endorses them.

Oh, I almost forgot about Tarte!  They are cruelty-free and their products are “formulated without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan, synthetic fragrances and gluten, just to name a few”  I've tested some of their eyeshadows in Sephora and they are awesome 🙂

My Beauty Bunny has the most complete lists with the info kept current:http://www.mybeautybunny.com/cruelty-free-brands/Please note many brands that claim to be Cruelty Free/No Animal Testing have been bought out by larger "mother" companies that are NOT Cruelty Free and DO engage in animal testing.  Thank you everyone for being a conscious consumer!
