Hi everyone!I'm just wondering, how do those of you with short hair (say chin length bob) style it?I'm in the process of growing it out and need a few ideas!

There are a couple of old threads with some ideas: http://fcbd.com/smf/index.php?topic=2003.msg19228#msg19228 http://fcbd.com/smf/index.php?topic=1533.msg13639#msg13639I've only done one performance since I had my hair cut off. What I did was dirty it up (I use Aveda control paste) and then twisted sections back towards the middle of my head (where my bun used to sit), held them in place with bobby pins, and then put a shedload of flowers all around. You couldn't really see that I had short hair at all.

One of my dancers bought two bands worth of ong dreds that matched her hair perfectly.  Placing the elastic like a head band, with plenty of bobby pins to secure it, she let the strands fall down the back.  She then tied a small, colorful wrap around the elastic to cover it, placed flowers a long the wrap, and it turned out pretty good.

Bob cut is my hairstyle in all different lengths and while it was the easiest to style when it wasalmost to my shoulders I am a rebel and cut it off to my chin.  I started dancing with the chin length bob style and learning to make it stage ready was a learning process. I usually build everything around a headband, it makes it easier to play off of and since the fringe comes in to play it makes it work a little better.  I also have barely enough hair to make a wee ponytail high enough on my head to build flowers around which gives it enough foundation to still be able to use hair sticks.  When I leave my hair down I build off of the headband, keeping the flowers asymmetrical and working with my face shape.  I like short hair so I have no plans to grow it out and have just learned to work around it.  😉 It gets easier!

Thanks so much Rebecca! I've have Asymmetrical pixie cut for years, so getting back into styling my hair now its longer is taking a bit of getting used to!!!!

A little late to the thread, but here is another suggestion for shorter hair (thin hair, too, my buns and braids are pathetic). My troupemate got this hair piece from an etsy seller (I made my own version). As long as you have enough hair to make the pony tails it will work. When my hair was shorter I didn't braid the ponies, just clipped the bits into the hair style. I can anchor the entire thing with hair sticks, then I am a scarf, flowers, headband and mazuna ropes. The seller has lots of different braid options, too. http://www.etsy.com/listing/54019716/bridal-wedding-accessory-hair-piece
