How to register for Studio Classes on mindbody.com
We use mindbody.com to list our studio classes and to allow you to sign up for classes
Step 1: Create an account on mindbody.com
Set up your free MINDBODY account to register for classes and streamline your check-in at the studio.
- Please enter your name in the “New to our site” section.
- On the “Find Account” page, your name will appear if you are already in our database. Please select the “This is me!” link and proceed with setting up your account.
Optionally, download the MINDBODY CONNECT app to your iPhone to make signing up for classes even easier!
Step 2: Sign Up for a class
After creating your MiNDBODY account, login with your MINDBODY account on the MINDBODY website, and choose the class you wish to register for.
Click the CLASSES tab to peruse our studio class schedule. When you find a class you want to sign up for, click the “Sign Up Now” button next to the name of the class. (At this point, if you are not already logged into mindbody.com, you will be prompted to login). Follow the prompts to complete the sign up process.
Classroom capacity is 20 students per session. Class will be closed once capacity is met, so please arrive early to secure a space!

Our classes start promptly. Please arrive 10–15 minutes prior to the beginning of class to ensure that you have ample time to get ready. The Studio is open 30 minutes before each class. Please come early to shop, meet the instructors or just get settled and grounded.
Our classes are for adult women only (18 years and older). For insurance purposes, children are not allowed in the studio or unattended in the store/waiting area. We do not provide childcare.
If you are new to ATS® Dance Fundamentals just wear a comfortable top and a skirt or loose pants. A scarf for your hips adds a nice touch. You’ll see dancers wearing a choli top and skirt, the official gear of ATS®, which you can purchase at the studio store when you are ready, or make your own. Bare feet, socks or dance shoes only in the studio, please.
Come prepared with a water bottle, dance shoes (if you wear them), and a notebook and pen to take notes if you wish. You will also need zils (finger cymbals)—bring your own or purchase a pair at the studio. Practice pairs are also available for you to try out.
American Tribal Style® is based on group improvisation rather than choreography. The ATS® system uses a standardized “vocabulary” of dance movements with built in cues and transitions that make it possible for dancers to improvise together in set formations.
While you will be learning many of the same movements that are used in other forms of belly dance, American Tribal Style® has it’s own unique vocabulary and formation system.
Level 2 and 3 require a strong understanding of the ATS® system, which can only be gained by first taking Level 1. Familiarity with belly dance, or any other dance form, will likely help you progress quickly into the more advanced classes.
Beginners are encouraged to occupy the window side of the room in order to have the best view of the instructor. Be present and open minded, this is a friendly and safe environment! Don’t be afraid to make mistakes—everyone in class is a student, too. Most importantly: Have fun!
